Wonderful in Waikiki - Stila

Ordered this on Sephora for only $14.00, according to Stila its worth $62...?
Anyway nice colors, great pigmentation. Cute booklet with mirror packaging. Comes with 4 shadows(shown below), blush and bronzer. What really pulled me in was the nice blue mixed in with the neutral colors and the great price!

So I attempted the 'look' given in the booklet. I would probably try this with more of nude eye and lining my eyes with the blue but I'll save that for another day. This is more of light day time smokey look and would probably look better with false lashes on. I didn't apply any primer. Some of the photos are pre-liner.

I applied a lot less 'surf' then I thought. But you can always play with it and make it look even more natural or intensify it for a more playful look.

Received my solotica in 'natural mel' today. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. Their a lot more translucent than I thought. I would not recommend these for dark eyes like mine unless you want a very very subtle change. But that's okay I'll wear these out for a few months until I can fork out another $120 for the 'Hidrocor mels'. I wore the Hidrocharme for so long and they became too dramatic for me(pic near the end) but I still love their look. I wanted to tone it down a bit, defiantly hidrocore would have been a better step down choice, before going to the naturals.

Below are some pics of me wearing both lenses. Solotica Hidrocharme on the left, Solotica Natural on the right. My camera isn't charged so I used my BB phone camera with flash. Their a bit darker in natural light. I decided to finally post full face pics, it seems to give a better idea of what it looks like from far and overall.

Non made up face so bare with me. My eyes are sensitive to bright light, especially up close. That's why I'm not holding the camera right in front of my eyes, and that's why I may appear to be a bit sleepy eyed in most of my photos.

Here is a photo with me wearing the 'natural' lens on the right side and my natural brown eye on the left.

In this photo I'm wearing the 'Naturals' on both eyes. It gives a dark green eyed appearance in flash photos.

Lastly here are some pics of me wearing the Hidrocharme with makeup. Both pics taken earlier this year. You can see what I meant by 'dramatic'. Of course they look more intense with makeup on and a flash camera.

Cheap Lashes/ Solotica/Salux!!

Its been soo long since I've updated! I've been so busy with school, work and family.

I'm still using solotica! Still get compliments! Still love them! But I would not recommend wearing them too long and or even waiting for even the 11th month to reorder.

I recently ordered the natural mel, should be coming in any day now! I'll post pics and compare one eye with the charme. I also found out that Solotica is now making monthly lenses! Which is great because their much easier to wear than hard lenses but on the downside their too pricey, unless you only plan to wear them for 1 month or for a special event.

False Lashes for cheap!

I have a load of false lashes to get rid of. Their brand new, soft texture, light and easy to apply. I have them in about 7 different styles. Salux - Best Shower ever!

If you don't have Salux your missing out! I found this product on Makeupalley, it has amazing reviews! And a rating of 4.9 of 5! So of course I had to buy them. I ordered mine online for under $4.00 each but I read that you might be able to find them at your local Asian grocery store or china town.

Salux is a simple rougher wash towel. It basically cleans and polishes your skin! So far I'm loving it!! I noticed the difference after the first shower. My skin feels softer, looks clearer and smoother. For the first time I feel like my skin can breathe. I'm recommending this to all my friends and family! Just love it!

People with more sensitive skin should be more gentle the first few times until their skin gets use to it. I personally loved the stimulating rough feeling which is good for blood circulation. Its not as rough as a bath brush and not as gentle as a loofah and it reaches every part on your body! The best part is that it can last for yrs and is more hygienic! It also lathers better and keeps the lather longer!

**Note! I read that some people were disappointed because they received copy cats of Salux made in China and the wash wasn't the same. Make sure you get the one that is made in Japan!!

Better than a Teeth whitener

I stumbled across this product called 'Plax'. Its helps to aid the removal of plaque with a quick rinse before you brush your teeth. I have to say its far better than that! I've read from reviews that it not only removes plaque but it also softens up tarter over time and you can actually brush away your tarter!

I've been using it for less than 2 weeks and my teeth feel smoother, cleaner and as a surprising bonus their already whiter!! I love it far better then traditional teeth whiteners! Because it actually removes plaque and tarter! Which I believe helps to lift stains and make your teeth truly healthier and whiter!!

I ordered this online at Well.ca. Free shipping for Canadians!. If anyone finds this product in stores, please let me know where! It cost me under $8 Canadian.

MAC, Swatches and my new obsession Minx

I went to MAC today to 'look', that never works and I ended up leaving with my first Dazzleglass in Funtabulous and a sable eyeshadow. I'm not a sparkly eyeshadow/gloss type. But their dazzleglosses are so pretty! I had a hard time choosing. I finally picked Funtabulous! I've been wanting a purple/pink gloss and this one seemed perfect and the glitter doesn't look tacky. If you haven't seen the dazzleglosses in person then you must! Everyone should own at least one. I've tried taking pictures but it doesn't look nearly as good as it does in person :(. Also I was running out of my everyday brown eyeshadow so I purchased Sable! I'll update on that one later and post pics. Below are other lip swatches of MAC and Barry M.

I won this one online! Contest hosted by Lollipop26! Thanks :). I may have never purchased this on my own. Its a bit too dramatic for me. It's a really "pale" pink for the girls who can rock that look and it seems to make your teeth look whiter.

I'll leave you with my new obsession, Minx nails! Which by the way I haven't tried yet :(. I'm thinking about ordering some on ebay... Does anyone know if these are difficult to apply? Until then I'll just wear my new Nicole by OPI in 'Winter Glitterland', I don't have any good pics of it yet but its really pretty take a look at Krissy's blog to see it! Her nails look so pretty. Its a great holiday look.

I really need to start updating more often! Anyway I've done some shopping at Folica online and at the MAC store! Also I've posted some other MAC lip swatches and Barry M - Marshmallow I received months ago on an online contest held by Lollipop26 on youtube.

First, I love Folica! I've ordered twice from them now, they have great customer service and they ship the next day! I ordered a wax kit by Satin Smooth for only $35.00! I was so excited they carried it. My local salon was selling the exact one for $70.00!! I saved a lot ordering it online! It comes with a wax heater, All purpose honey wax, cleanser, aloe skin soother, skin nourish-er, wax residue remover, wax strips and application sticks in 3 sizes. I also ordered calendula gold hard wax which was $15.00 extra.

I also ordered my favorite hair straightener SEDU(1")!! It's better then Chi and Paul brown in my opinion. I find Chi straighteners tend to break faster and Paul brown is only 'coated' in ceramic and tends to make my hair appear dry and brittle after awhile. My Sedu came with a free mini in a really cute zebra print case! A 2 year warranty, heat mat and a protective heat glove! All for under 150! So If your looking for a good straightener and styler get Sedu! Awesome deal and its voted number '1' on Folica!

NYX Lip colors

NYX products - cheap and good quality. I only had 3 lipsticks before NYX that I rarely wear! I'm more of a lip gloss person. I decided NYX would be perfect for lipstick color testing. NYX is so cheap with a great selection of popular colors.

NYX lipsticks are really creamy! Which is why they probably don't wear very long. They feel like they will melt away, so creamy. They don't dry your lips or feel heavy like other lipsticks might. I purchased these at Cherryculture.com, they are much cheaper at Cherry then in stores and on the online NYX store.

Solotica Hidrocharme - Mel / honey appears green on dark eyes. In some lights they appear grayish blue.

I've been wearing prescribed contacts for about 4 yrs now. When I first started I decided to experiment with colored lenses to make my lens wearing more enjoyable. After awhile of wearing colored lenses I made the choice to stay away from them as they dry your eyes out, no matter what brand they are. I also started hating the way colored lenses looked so fake.

You probably already know that colored lenses allow less oxygen into your eyes (compared to clear contacts), causing them to feel dry fast, which is very discomforting over time. My vision is much more sharp and clear with clear lenses then with colored and I rarely feel them.

Natural Eye color

I decided to give colored lenses another try when I came across great reviews on 'Solotica' colored lenses. So far I'm very impressed with solotica. The color looks more natural then any other brand I've tried or seen on other people. They blend very well with your natural eye color and change in different lighting. The color is more intense and vibrant in brighter lights and in flash photos.

I would not recommend wearing any colored contact lens or hard lens for more then 8 hrs a day and do not sleep with them on! They dry out your eyes and could make them a bit sensitive to brighter lights that can cause headaches (from my experience anyway). Obviously it's not good to deprive your eyes from oxygen and moisture and you will get side effects if you do.

Solotica may seem more expensive but they are annual lenses. If your a prescripted user then the price is fairly cheap if you add up on how much you spend per year on monthly lenses. If you do rely on Solotica lenses for vision and use them on a daily bases, then I would suggest carrying a spare set of clear lenses or glasses. Its a good idea to carry eye drops with you at all times if you wear lenses and a case with fresh solution.

Solotica Lenses

Solotica Is by far my favorite brand for color. I've had soo many compliments on my eyes when wearing solotica. They look very close to natural and the color really stands out. Other colored contact brands I've tried are Freshlook color blends, Freshlook Radiance and Expressions. ProClear is my favorite for clear contacts I highly recommend them! :)

Solotica comes in 3 different types: Naturals, Hidrocharme and Hidrocor

Naturals - Recommended for lighter colored eyes or if your looking for a small change in color. They are more translucent than the others.

Hidrocharme - Come with a limbal ring for more intensity. They look great on anyone but they look better on someone with a smaller iris, as they will make your eyes appear larger(and the limbal ring wont appear as thick). You will receive the most compliments with these! Although the ring could make them appear unnatural.

Hidrocor - Is the most natural looking of the solotica lenses. They are the same as the charme but without the limbal ring. Go for these if you want a less dramatic change of color and if your iris is larger.

Here are some sites where you can order solotica, remember Solotica is only sold in Brazil and on online Brazilian sites. You will need to convert to Brazilian currency when purchasing.

Jessica Alba Makeover
